Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 full Review, Price & Specifications

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 G7102 is the worthy successor of Samsung’s highly successful Galaxy Grand Duos. This smartphone is much better in almost all aspects compared to the previous Grand and the price in India is also reasonable. At launch, it’s priced at 22,000 Rs ~ 360 USD.

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2

The new Galaxy Grand II sports a larger 5.25″ TFT display with decent 720p resolution @280 ppi, which is far better than the 187 ppi of the 1st generation one. The CPU is also a quad-core one with the same 1.2GHz clock speed though the processor has been downgraded to Cortex-A7. The GPU this time is Adreno 305. The internal storage is disappointing 8GB only & the RAM is upgraded 1.5GB. The camera remains the same, i.e. 8MP at the back & 1.9MP at the front [Grand has 2MP front camera]. The Android version out-of-the box is latest 4.3 [Jelly Bean]. There is a lather like plastic back cover like Note 3 as well.

Strong points : Simple & intuitive user interface with smart features, gestures & one-handed screen options. The large display size with superb color reproduction, latest OS, 1.5GB RAM make this device one of the most desirable phones for the mid-range phone buyers. You can have the taste of innovative Galaxy S4 & Note 3 on this Grand 2.

Weak points : The internal memory is only around 4 GB user available out-of-the-box which is a bad news for the gamers. Though you can move a very small part of the downloaded games to the external SD card, 4GB storage is too low for a device with these specs. Huge dimensions also may create inconvenience sometimes.

Suitable for those people who are looking for a high performance gaming phone with a brilliant UI & huge display at a very decent price. This phone is also great for watching movies, photography, ebook reading, browsing & obviously showing off the awesomeness of the UI to friends & family.
